What is your field of expertise, and what makes you interested in this field?

In athletic training, I focus on administrative, legal, and professional practice issues. My primary aim is to not only prepare highly skilled athletic trainers but individuals that want to serve others and become good stewards of their chosen profession.

Can you briefly introduce the academic program (or department) you are in to our prospective students?

Our program is the newest health science program at CSS. Its primary purpose is to prepare entry-level athletic trainers seeking certification for the first time. Athletic trainers serve the physically active population and perform a range of duties from injury prevention, to evaluation, to rehabilitation and reconditioning. Consistent with the mission of the college, there is a substantial focus on ethical practice and serving others.

What distinguishes St. Scholastica/your program from other colleges and universities?

Geographically, we offer the only program of its kind between Ohio and North Dakota. Our faculty and clinical sites are committed to preparing high quality practitioners. Finally, we offer a range of opportunities beyond most entry-level programs.

What do you like best about St. Scholastica?

The culture - ideas can be cultivated and implemented because everyone wants to do their part and make it a great place to work.

What's your most interesting teaching or research experience at St. Scholastica?

Well, I feel like I just got here but there are a lot of facets to starting a new program.

If you are committed to serving others and want to become well prepare to do so, you will get everything you need and more here.
