What is your field of expertise, and what makes you interested in this field?
Health Information Management! What another exciting year it has been for the HIM Profession! The healthcare industry is being transformed by health information technologies and mandates (meaningful use, interoperability, healthcare reform) and the HIIM Department at CSS is not taking this exciting time for granted.
Can you briefly introduce the academic program (or department) you are in to our prospective students?
A degree in Health Information Management provides students with the professional knowledge necessary to assume management responsibility for health record and health information systems in a variety of health related settings. It is ideal for the person who likes the health care environment but does not want direct patient contact.
The HIIM Department is at the forefront of educating and training the next generation of HIM professionals to be prepared to effectively utilize the tools and resources necessary to meet the needs of their future workplaces.
