Bill Howes belongs to the Eagle Clan from the Anishinaabeg people at the Fond du Lac Indian Reservation where he was born and raised. Bill is married to Edye Howes and the proud father of his 16-yr. old daughter and 9-yr. old son. He taught 3rd and 5th grades in Duluth Public Schools for 6 years before becoming the Integration Specialist for the Duluth Public Schools. After 4 years as the Integration Specialist, Bill accepted the position of Project Coordinator of the Native Teacher Program at The College of St. Scholastica, of which he is now the Project Director. Bill received his B.A.S. from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He has done numerous presentations and workshops with youth and adults in the area of cultural understanding and diversity. Bill believes strongly in sharing the gifts that were shared with him, and that in sharing these gifts, all of our lives are strengthened.
