What classes do I need to take?

Art (major) Schema

Art (minor) Schema

The Art major is between 38 and 42 credits and consists of 18 credits in foundation courses (ART 1105, 1120, 1124, 1126, and 4577) and 20-24 credits in one of three concentrations. Painting/Drawing (ART 2121, 2221, 3321, 3421, 4521, 4621, 2220, 2320, 3420, and 2122), Graphic Design (ART, 2041, 2122, 2307, 3241, CTA 3041, 3141 and 3341), or Photography (ART 1107, 2207, 2307, 3327, and 4427). Additionally, there are other credits available for electives beyond the 38 credits.


Internships

While internships are not mandatory, students are encouraged to seek them. Students have interned at regional arts councils and graphic design majors often participate in internships at advertising agencies. Students may find internship opportunities throughout the world.


Displaying your Artwork

The School of Arts and Letters offers the opportunity to display artwork and photography on campus and in some cases in local galleries.
