What degrees are offered for Music Majors?
*In all these areas students choose a major instrument or voice on which to specialize. A special option available at St. Scholastica is the opportunity to major in historical instruments or voice; instruments are available for students use.

Requirements for admission to music major:
1. Junior-level standing
2. a. For music performance, music education and music management students: admission to 3000 level of music lessons, completion of MUS 2297 Sophomore Recital, and completion of MUS 2298 Keyboard/Sightsinging Proficiency.
b. For music literature students: 2 semesters of music lessons on the major instrument/voice
3. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) Retention requirements: Students must earn a minimum of C- in all courses required for the major and remain in good academic standing with the College to maintain status as a Music major.
You may minor in music at St. Scholastica by taking courses in Music Theory and History, studying privately and playing in ensembles.
