At St. Scholastica, a degree in music can prepare students for careers in education, the arts, business and entertainment. It can lend expertise and a foundation for a music-related field. Some students major or minor in music as part of a pre-professional program such as pre-medicine. Others add the study to their liberal arts repertoire as a means of personal enrichment.

From our Graduates...
"The best decision I ever made was to transfer to St. Scholastica."
-Steven Lundahl, Boston
Early Music Instrumentalist, Waverly Consort and Boston Camerata
"Music at St. Scholastica is a way of life not simply a course of study. Music majors experience close-knit ties with each other, develop lasting relationships, and work with dedicated, caring faculty."
-Warren Gooch, Kirksville, MO
Professor of Music
Truman State University
"There is not a single day that I do not use the tools given to me by faculty at CSS. It comes in the gentle manner of treating people with respect, understanding where you are today is not where you will be tomorrow, amongst many other subtle unspoken gifts that were shared with a simple boy from Ely that had limited skills but a curious spirit. Encourage from the faculty was one of the main forces that sent me down the road to a teaching career, which is what I do best and love more than anything. I am always indebted to the patience and kindness shown to me during my years at St. Scholastica."
-John Scheuer '84, Las Vegas, NV
Elementary Music Specialist
Clark County School District
"Every day I use the solid foundation that my education at St. Scholastica gave me. This includes musical concepts in pedagogy, performance, theory and history as well as entrepreneurial skills. I continue to find the greatest enjoyment and satisfaction in teaching students of all skills levels, performing at events, and continuing to build the Event Entertainment Agency started when I was attending CSS."
