…through drumming we hope to participate in the universal language of rhythm that cuts across all geographical and social borders…
Students in this ensemble prepare and perform rhythms from percussion communities around the world. Many of these rhythms would be associated with communal dancing and/or singing, but we believe the rhythms are equally powerful and enthralling when performed by themselves.
The ensemble is open to all college students, regardless of major or experience [M. 5-6 & Th. 12-12:50] and provides consistent opportunities to engage in community outreach and touring.
