What is your field of expertise, and what makes you interested in this field?
I am a classically trained percussionist but I have become particularly interested in non-western music. I am blessed that I get to literally hit drums for a living-how amazing is that!
In your perspective, what distinguishes St. Scholastica from other colleges and universities?
Our faculty members truly care about the students--we are working hard to meet students where they are and then get them where they need to be in order to graduate and then pursue their dreams.
What do you like best about St. Scholastica?
I enjoy collaborating with students in ensembles. And in particular, when the students and I visit local schools and share our passion for rhythm and music with the greater community.
What's your most interesting teaching or research experience at St. Scholastica?
Starting a Steel Band at CSS has been an amazing experience. Thanks to the College's Venture Fund and the support of the Music Department, we now have an authentic Caribbean cultural experience right on campus for students to enjoy!
What's your advice for prospective students?
Meet as many new people as you can and be open to new ideas and new opportunities!
