Definition: What is Rover?
Rover is the document and materials delivery service provided by The College of St. Scholastica Library. This service delivers copies of articles, books, and other materials to CSS library users at a distance.

Eligibility: Who can use Rover?
CSS library patrons who live 25 or more miles from Duluth are eligible. This does not include "community borrowers," but does include undergraduate students, ADEP students, online students, graduate students, faculty, adjunct faculty, staff, and clinical preceptors with CSS library cards.
Procedure: How does Rover work?
To obtain materials students can email, call, fax , fill out electronic form, or mail requests to the Library. All requests must have the full citation, your mailing address, email address, program of study, and your library card. To request materials through Rover see the Requesting Library Materials link.
Electronic Delivery: Can I get something delivered to me electronically?
Yes, some articles can be delivered electronically to your CSS email.
***NOTE: Unless notified otherwise, articles will be sent electronically. Also, copies will only be sent to your CSS email.
When requesting materials through Rover be sure to alert us to your preference for electronic delivery. This can be done in the body of your message if requesting by email, or check the box before the “Electronic Delivery” option in the Online Rover Request Form. Also, be sure to include your email address with your request!
**NOTE: Some articles cannot be delivered electronically. To send these to you, we need your physical address and that you are a Rover patron.
Time: How long does it take?
Rover requests are filled within 72 hours of receiving the original request. If receiving materials by mail, be aware that it may take 7-10 days to receive your request.

Costs: The CSS Library will pay the cost of postage to send items to you. Patrons are responsible for paying the postage to return items to the Library. Patrons will be charged for any photocopies that are mailed to them. There are no other additional fees. All charges are summed and billed periodically throughout the semester; advance payment is not required.
Grants: Some programs have grant money available to cover photocopying charges up to a maximum of $75.00 per student per year. This depends entirely upon grant availability. Please contact your program or the Library to see if grant funds are available to you. Some programs also have funds to cover postage costs.
