How do I get a library card? Your CSS student ID serves as your library card. If you have not been issued one, contact your academic department (i.e management, nursing, etc.).
How long may an undergraduate check out books for? Four weeks for books, and one week for AV (videos, CDs, etc.). Items may be renewed for an additional 4 weeks if no other patron has requested them. NOTE: The Library reserves the right to recall materials after the first 4 weeks.
How long may a graduate students check out books for? Until the end of the semester for books, and one week for AV (videos, CDs, etc.). NOTE: The Library reserves the right to recall materials after the first 4 weeks.
May periodicals (journals, magazines, and newspapers) be checked out of the Library? Both undergraduate and graduate students may not check periodicals out of the Library. Faculty members may. Copy machines for student use are located on both the first and second floor of the Library. If you are a distance students copies can be made for you through our ROVER service.
When are InterLibrary Loan (ILL) materials due? The return date is set by the lending library and will vary from item to item.
How much are fines if I am late returning an item? Fines are $1 per item. Students with items so long overdue that the Library deems them lost will be charged the cost of the item plus a processing fee.
NOTE: "Effective March 15, 2007, when you provide a check as payment, you authorize us either to use information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction. For inquiries please call the College of St. Scholastica Business Office at 1-800-447-5444 or 723-6092. When we use information from your check to make an electronic fund transfer, funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the same day you make your payment, and you will not receive your check back from your financial institution."
