The Ibsen Centre "Henrik Ibsen (1828 - 1906) is considered the father of modern drama and one of the world’s most famous playwrights. As relevant today as 100 years ago, his plays are still staged the world over ... The Centre for Ibsen Studies was founded as part of the University of Oslo on 1 September 1992 in an effort to facilitate research on, and the dissemination of information about, Henrik Ibsen and his work. The Centre’s objective is to enhance and promote research on Ibsen in the national and international arenas. The Centre is an information and service centre designed to facilitate research on Ibsen for Norwegian and foreign scholars and students, as well as for people associated with the theatre."
