SPIRITUALITY AND WORK 12TH ANNUAL SPIRITUALITY CONFERENCEThe College of St. Scholastica Mitchell Auditorium October 24-25, 2008 Conference Theme:This year in our annual spirituality conference we focus on "spirituality and work." We explore a variety of dimensions of this topic: How does my work touch my soul? How does my soul touch my work? And, indeed, what is the real work of my life? How is my work a transformative influence in society? What is the work of a student? What is the significance of professional work? What is the work of a retired person? Aside from a paid job, what other "work" do I do that both expresses and refreshes my soul? This is an opportunity to reflect on the sacredness of work in its many expressions. Please join us as we explore connections between the co-creative work of our souls and the work of all Creation. "Spiritualities of Work" will help us: - Engage in theological discourse with well-known experts about the spirituality of work.
- Engage in dialogue about the spiritual call to honor all forms of work as co-creation.
- Deepen our spiritual grounding in order to become artisans of a more sustainable world.
- Explore ways of becoming prophetic agents of healing and hope in the workplace.
