ST. SCHOLASTICA PRESENTS FIFTH ANNUAL GOSPELFEST - A MUSICAL CELEBRATION

The College of St. Scholastica’s Kaleidoscope Multicultural Club (KMC) concludes its 2006-07 series of events with the fifth annual GospelFest. The musical celebration will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 21, in the Mitchell Auditorium on campus.

The public is invited. Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for college students and $1 for children 12 and under. There is no admission charge for St. Scholastica students, faculty and staff. Tickets will be sold at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information call (218) 723-6453.

Featured performers include recording artists Tonia Hughes, Serita Campbell, Remnant; Pastor Cassandra Boulton; Jevon Brock and Restoration; Sanctuary Covenant Church; and Living Faith International Worship Team.

Hughes has provided vocals for Mary J. Blige and Gospel legend Shirley Caesar, as well as Judith McCalister, Robert “Eddie” Robinson, the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness and the internationally renowned Steele Family. In 2004 Hughes was nominated by the Minnesota Music Academy for Gospel Artist of the Year.

KMC is a student organization at St. Scholastica that promotes diversity throughout campus and the community. During the academic year KMC sponsors a variety of events that represent a multitude of cultures at St. Scholastica.

In addition to KMC, GospelFest is sponsored by The College of St. Scholastica’s Office of Multicultural and Diversity Services and St. Mary’s/Duluth Clinic Health System.
