Ryan Vine, assistant professor of English at The College of St. Scholastica, will be the next speaker in a faculty colloquium monthly lecture series. His talk is at 3:40 p.m. Friday, April 13, in room 4119 of Tower Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
Vine will present poems from his new manuscript "Rule Book." His talk is part of a faculty colloquium series by the College's School of Arts and Letters to highlight diverse faculty research projects. The presentation will last one hour and include a 40-minute lecture followed by 20 minutes of questions and answers. Colloquium audiences typically include a mixture of students, faculty and community members.
Vine's chapbook, "Distant Engines," won a Weldon Kees Award from Backwaters Press. His poems have appeared on public radio's "The Writer's Almanac" and in The American Poetry Review, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and Ploughshares, among many other publications. His honors include the Writing, Literature and Publishing Prize from Emerson College, the Robert Watson Poetry Prize from the Greensboro Review and a Career Development Grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council.
