"Some Girl(s)," by Neil LaBute, is the next production for the 2011-2012 theatrical season. The play begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in the St. Scholastica Theatre, directly behind Tower Hall on campus. Directing are Amanda Imberg, Shane May and Emily Murphy.
The plot centers around a writer who travels the country reconnecting with former girlfriends in an effort to see the women he once loved, atone for the pain he may have caused, and maybe get a really good story to publish along the way.
The writer, "Guy," can be considered at times utterly clueless, while in other circumstances, calculating and manipulative. Guy showcases a portrait of a young writer as he faces the worst of himself and the best of what he has left behind.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens, children and students and $5 for St. Scholastica students with identification. Tickets can be purchased online through the Spotlight Box Office at spotlight.css.edu or call (218) 723-7000. Spotlight@css.edu is St. Scholastica's one-stop shop for arts and lectures information and tickets.
Performances of "Some Girl(s)" will also be staged on Dec. 3, 4, 8, 9,10, and 11. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinee performances are at 2 p.m.
