Vocalist Maurice Jacox leads a performance of Nat King Cole's greatest hits at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in the Mitchell Auditorium on The College of St. Scholastica campus. The concert is part of the 2009-2010 Mitchell Performing Arts Series.
The show, entitled "Straighten Up and Fly Right," showcases Cole hits like "Mona Lisa," "Ramblin' Rose" and "Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer."
Jacox is the winner of the Minnesota Music Academy Jazz Award, and was named Twin City Pages Best Male Vocalist and the Blues Society Best Blues Artist. He will be accompanied by an ensemble including guitars, drums, saxophone, and piano.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and students, and $10 for age 12 and younger. The same prices apply for individual shows in the rest of the Performing Arts Series.
