Christmas celebration continues with free "Messiah" sing-along

12/09/09The public is invited to be part of The College of St. Scholastica's 29th annual sing-along of Handel's "Messiah" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in the Mitchell Auditorium on campus. There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome to the event, which features the Center For Early Music Orchestra under the direction of Shelley Gruskin, emeritus member of St. Scholastica's Department of Music.
Audience members are encouraged to sing along, while the orchestra provides accompaniment. Tenor Bill Bastian, an instructor for the College's music department, will provide a solo. A limited supply of "Messiah" scores will be available at the door for guests to borrow for the evening; scores also can be purchased at the door.
