Twin Cities native performs works of Mozart, Debussy, Prokofiev, Bach and Chopin

10/29/09Suzanne Greer, a guest musical artist from the Twin Cities, will present a piano recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Mitchell Auditorium on the St. Scholastica campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
She will perform works of Mozart, Debussy, Prokofiev, Bach and Chopin.
Greer is a native of Duluth and an alumnus of the St. Scholastica Piano Preparatory Department. She studied piano with Mary Ann Swallum and music theory with LeAnn House of the St. Scholastica music faculty. From 1990 to 1992, she served as piano teacher on the Piano Preparatory Department faculty at St. Scholastica and was also an artist-in-residence for the Depot Outreach Artist Program in St. Louis County.
She resides in Minnetonka, MN, where she teaches both "Suzuki" and "Traditional" piano lessons in her home studio. She has developed a Suzuki Parent Education Program and was awarded two teacher development scholarships from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Her students are consistent winners in local and state competitions.
Greer performs frequently for Thursday Musical, an organization that brings high-caliber classical concerts to audiences in the Twin Cities. She has a bachelor's degree in music from St. Olaf College and a master's degree in music from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.
