The College of St. Scholastica’s Asian Fun Club will host a fireworks display at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, on the soccer field behind Tower Hall on the St. Scholastica campus. The public is welcome.
The fireworks are in observance of several Asian New Year's celebrations including Japanese New Year (Jan. 1), Chinese New Year (Jan. 26), Sri Lanka New Year (April 13), and others.
“The celebration is not limited to one Asian New Year’s celebration, but includes all of them,” said sophomore Kim Van, an Asian Fun Club member. “It is a night to bring people together under the same sky, celebrating differences while realizing that we are all the same that night - human beings looking to the sky.”
The display will last approximately 10 minutes. Refreshments will be available after the display in the Intercultural Center in the lower level of Tower Hall.
