The Rev. April Larson, pastor of First Lutheran Church in Duluth and first female bishop in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, in Somers Lounge at The College of St. Scholastica.
Her free presentation is part of the "What Do Protestants Think About ...?" series sponsored by St. Scholastica's Braegelman Catholic Studies Program and the offices of Campus Ministry and Residential Life.
Larson's talk is entitled "What Do Lutherans Think About ... The Presence of Christ in the Eucharist?" Father Timothy Sas, of Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Duluth, will provide a response.
"We are especially fortunate to have Pastor Larson kick off our fall series," said Father William Graham, St. Scholastica professor and Braegelman Program director. "As a pastor of uncommonly good sense, she'll help us understand the faith that binds the Christian family together and the legitimate differences that divide and define us."
Catholic Studies at St. Scholastica is a program that explores the Catholic intellectual tradition with students and the larger community.
