The College of St. Scholastica's Kaleidoscope Multicultural Club (KMC) presents "Zen Elements," an Asian Heritage Celebration on Thursday, April 16, in Tower Hall on the St. Scholastica campus.
Performances begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Auditorium. A dance workshop led by Motion Crew, a hip-hop dance group, will be offered at 4:30 p.m. in the Intercultural Center adjacent to the Student Union. The event, including food, is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
Performances include Nepali song and dance; Major 5th, a group of students from several colleges led by singer and guitarist Victoria Vang; Red Hot Pepper, traditional Chinese dancers led by Dao Lan; and Potent Poet, a Twin Cities rap artist.
Asian food, provided by Zen House Japanese Restaurant and Bangkok Royal Thai Restaurant, will be available in the Student Union following the performance.
"This celebration is a time to acknowledge and show the beauty and uniqueness of several Asian cultures," said Mao Vang, a senior at the College and president of KMC.
