Brainerd resident Christopher Fink has been named Alum of the Month for Sept. 2008 at The College of St. Scholastica.
The Alum of the Month designation recognizes alumni who are role models to current students and an inspiration to St. Scholastica alumni.
Fink graduated from St. Scholastica in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology. He manages the Brainerd Lakes Sleep Health Center, which provides diagnostic testing for persons suspecting a sleep disorder. Prior to that he worked at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis
"The ‘love of learning’ value was firmly instilled in me while at St. Scholastica," he said. "I still carry that with me. I love to teach. You can find me at local trade shows, specialty meetings, high school classes and service organizations. I make a point to try to pass along information and absorb knowledge every chance I get."
Fink was nominated for the German Nino-Garcia, MD Achievement Award, given to someone who best exemplifies excellence in the performance of a polysomnogram and in-patient care during their first year. Recently he was approved to serve a three-year term on the American Association of Sleep Technologists Continuing Education Credit Accreditation Committee.
He is a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist and plans to enroll in the Master of Arts in Management Program at St. Scholastica.
