A New Heaven and A New Earth

Experiencing the Saint John's Bible

In honor of the Centennial of the College, the Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery and the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard hosted a three-day spiritual journey, featuring text and illuminations of The Saint John's Bible.

The seven-volume Saint John's Bible is the first handwritten, illuminated Bible created in more than 500 years. This Bible and work of art was commissioned by the Benedictines of St. John's Abbey and produced by calligraphers and illuminators in a scriptorium in Wales under the artistic direction of Donald Jackson, MVO, perhaps the world's finest calligrapher.

The Saint John's Bible will be a source of spiritual and artistic vitality not only for our modern world but a legacy for the ages. Don't miss your chance to view and engage with this testament to the power of faith.
